He told of how you all had prayed, etc., hoping that God would intervene. He spoke of how he had to be at a particular church and, if I recall correctly, a woman who would fit the bill of a "mother in Israel"--likely someone who seemed possessed of all the old Church of God particulars--"holy" dress, dedication, etc.--came up to him. He said she told him confidently that his sister would not die.

Alas, he already knew that she HAD died. He said that it threw him for a spiritual loop. It made him question the validity of the Pentecostal understanding of the Holy Ghost. After all, if this supposed saint--one who would almost certainly have fit the bill of being someone full of the Holy Ghost--didn't hear from God any better than that, then maybe it was all rot.

But he went on to say how the Lord finally brought him through.... Basically, if someone missed it, that wasn't the Holy Ghost's fault. He was going to believe that it was real anyway!

It was one of the most blessed moments in my many years of hearing Camp Meeting sermons and teachings. It has stuck with me during my own similar moments.AaronShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01263323475384069306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19850609.post-1142923098947048612006-03-21T01:38:00.000-05:002006-03-21T01:38:00.000-05:00Thank you for sharing that powerful testimony of y...Thank you for sharing that powerful testimony of your sister's passing from this life to the next. It reminded me of my late father's passing last year, which was similar in many ways.

God bless!

TheoloJohnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19850609.post-1142021927012524562006-03-10T15:18:00.000-05:002006-03-10T15:18:00.000-05:00More and more I become convinced of the unseen rea...More and more I become convinced of the unseen realm, that place where from time to time God allows someone to see a glimpse of what is to come...and they are allowed to share with us...to give us hope for our future.
